Senior Consultant (Marine Operations)
Location: Glasgow - UK
Rate: N/A (Permanent)
OVERALL PURPOSE OF ROLE:
To provide operational and technical assistance to the Operations Manager.
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee and assist in the operations as and when required.
To act as point of contact for shipping agencies, clients & in- field superintendents. (including acting AOH coverage on a rotational basis).
To assist with review, QA & compliation of the following:
• Safety Inspections Reports,
• OBT Reports
• VECS Examinations
• Ship Security Plan / Assessments
To substitute for the Operations Manager during periods of absence from the office due to travel & holidays.
To assist with the review and update of training and inspection materials that reflect changes in industry requirements and international regulations.
To provide in-office training for newly appointed consultants / trainers.
To undertake short duration out of office vists to company vessels as and when required.
To review / submit Ship Security Plans / assessments as and when required.
KEY REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB (Essential skills, qualifications and experience)
Class 1 Master mariner or Chief Engineer.
Minimum 1 year sea going as senior officer.
Experience in ISO and ISM auditing and Oil Major Vetting Inspections.
An excellent working knowledge of statutory requirements, regulations and marine codes of practice.
Good communication Skills and an ability to interact with clients and colleagues comfortably.
Good IT skills ( MS Office applications ) in presenting materials & reports.
Well organised and systematic working style
Fluent in English and business English writing skills.
