Senior Project Engineer

A vacancy has arisen in SeaTec for a Senior Projects Engineer to support the development of our ship repair activities.
OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The position will have responsibility for the coordination of all technical activities on assigned projects, including the preparation of proposals, project schedules and co-ordination of all of the agreed engineering work. In addition you will need to ensure that all work is conducted in full compliance with all applicable codes, accepted engineering practices and in full compliance with SeaTec’s standards.
You will be responsible and accountable for ensuring that all assigned personnel are coordinating their activities in accordance with other project participants and that the contract requirements are being satisfied.
You will be expected to have sufficient technical knowledge and awareness to be able to recognise when technical problems are developing in various disciplines and to initiate appropriate corrective action.
You will report to the Engineering Director of SeaTec and will work closely with the head of our manpower supply from where resources will be provided to support projects.
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Preparation of project proposals and associated schedules
•Coordination and checking of all deliverables
•Preparation of project status reports
•Budget monitoring and tracking
•Participating in/managing client/contractor meetings and resolving client/engineering and project management issues
•Preparation and follow up of project invoices
•Project set-up and maintenance using Timemaster software
•The role will involve periods of travel overseas
KEY REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB (Essential skills, qualifications and experience)
•Demonstrable experience of ship repair activities gained either in the role of a ship superintendent or in a ship repair facility.
•Chartered Marine Engineer or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
•Good computer skills.
